ANORECTAL DISORDERS
Anorectal disorders are a group of medical disorders that occur at the anus and the rectum. Our surgeons are trained in diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders of the anorectal region including hemorrhoids, abscesses, fistulas, fissures, and anal itching.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our surgeon will begin by asking questions to understand your lifestyle and medical history to help them determine potential causes for your particular issue.
They may then perform an exam of the anal region as well as use a tool called an anoscope to examine the rectum. If they determine that an intervention can be done on site for your condition, they will explain it to you and proceed if you are in agreement. If after your examination, your surgeon determines that treatment will be more involved, you will be scheduled for the appropriate intervention at a later date or be advised of next steps accordingly.
Our staff will assist you with the scheduling and answering any questions you may have.
